I began my career as a stylist, at the age of 18. After finishing beauty school, I worked at The Cuttery Salon in Poughkeepsie for 4 years before I decided to take on a new venture. In 2007, I became a substitute Cosmetology teacher at the school I had myself attended. While there, I taught students up-to-date techniques for coloring, cutting, and styling. I also instilled in them the importance it is to learn and educate yourself so that each one can achieve their full potential. By 2008, I purchased The Cuttery Salon from my employer after its 40 years of business. In that time, I managed 9 stylists and 2 assistants in creating a positive and fun atmosphere for clients to relax and enjoy getting their hair done. I think it is incredibly important to make every client feel welcomed and treated with the utmost care. After 2 years of ownership, I realized that my passion wasn't so much in owning a salon as it was working behind the chair. I sold my shop in May 2010 to further pursue my career, not only as a stylist, but also in Editorial work. I began focusing on Photoshoots, Weddings, & Fashion Shows and have helped raise thousands of dollars for charities such as St. Judes Childrens Hospital, Breast Cancer Awareness, and ARCS (Aids Related Community Services). I have also taken several advanced classes at The Redken Exchange in NYC to further my skills and educate myself in all aspects of hair. I believe that there are no limits to how much you can learn. My passion shows when I take these skills back to the salon and create high fashion styles, colors and cuts.
